Teko Bari Case
Dates & Time: may 18, & July 20, 2023 at 10:00am Location: Long Beach City COLLEGE, Pacific Coast Campus
This month will be the teko bari case. We will start with the Rhoads stitch. For those of you who are not familiar with this stitch, it is one of the easiest to start with and goes quickly. We will get enough of the Rhoads stitch in so that we can start on the long arm cross stitch. This stitch can be a bit challenging, but it looks really nice when finished.
At our July meeting we will be doing the case finishing so that you leave with a new home for your teko bari.
Little Treasure Box
Dates & Time: April 20, June 15 & August 17, 2023 at 10:00am Location: Long Beach City COLLEGE, Pacific Coast Campus instructor: Margaret Bendig
This Little Treasure Box was designed to hold those precious tools we use when we sit down to stitch. The box is 4” square and 1 5/8” high. It will comfortably hold embroidery scissors, needles, laying tool, counting pins, thimble, or other small tools necessary when working your magic.
The box bottom is composed of repeats of three composite patterns using multiple types of threads. The sides of the box bottom are 1 ½” high. Seven different patterns make the box top interesting to stitch and to view. There are 11 different threads used in the project, multiples of half of them.
Two different color ways are currently available, Seafoam and Jewel. The Seafoam color way is designed with Watercolours, Bermuda Reef as the inspiration and the Jewel color way uses Watercolours,Elderberry Wine and complimentary colors as well.
The class includes two 12” squares of 18 count canvas, all instructions, including the finishing instructions. All stitching materials are included in the kit, finishing materials are minimal but not included in the kit as the lining fabrics are chosen by the student.
I hope you will join us in a great three-day class to share this fun project, one that you can stitch and finish. Why not spark up your stitching nest!
Kit fee is $135. Please make your check payable to Margaret Bendig.
